I am looking forward to
teaching Approaches to Abstraction in Painting at UCBX starting September 22 through December 15 on Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:30 at UCBX at 160 Spear Street San Francisco
My classes are designed to take your painting to the next level by
asking you to consider what it means to be an artist. Organized like a
laboratory, they encourage an exploration of art practices and art
making specific to artistic maturation. You will explore a variety of
approaches to painting, hone your technical painting skills, and look
closer at contemporary painting practices. You will increase your
familiarity with art history and concepts of contemporary art specific
to painting through in-class lectures, local museum and gallery visits
and image presentations. My goal is to aid you to make painting a
valuable part of your life that leads to personal expression as well as a
foundation to build upon in your future artistic/academic pursuits.
